Why does the quran nowhere say earth goes around the sun or rain comes from ocean water evaporating?
You are pathetically illogical. The sun does float in an orbit. It is on the arm of a spiral galaxy which rotates around a center mass. Which is really amazing because the Qu’ran says the sun will be “takwir” -An Arabic word that means “spiraled around a mass as though wrapping a turban.” <-Perfect description by an all-Wise Creator. As to the Qu'ran and the water cycle, first point the Qu'ran verse you are quoting is correct. Rain does come directly from God in the sense that every law that governs the universe is initiated and upheld by God. Furthermore, the Qu'ran, in other verses, ellaborates on the water cycle, and it is in perfect accordance with modern science. As to why the Qu'ran doesn't specifically mention the sun rotating around the earth, this is simply due to the fact that the Qu'ran is not a science text-book and was not revealed to teach men about science.
