Why does the presidential election process of the USA drag on forever?
Elections do not generally drag on for so long, but this year they coincided with the sitting president’s significant unpopularity. The elections thus became a forum for the discussion of general policy. Couple this with the fact that it is a close race for the nomination in both parties, as well as the unprecedented candidacy of an African American and a woman, and one can see how this is a unique, extended election season for the country. The elections are only a manifestation of the current political climate, which is turbulent. And that is putting it mildly.
