Why does the Phantom give Christine Raouls ring in Phantom of the Opera?
i disagree with the you put… in a way the phantom is proposing to her with the ring that Raoul gave her cause during the masqurade scene he take it off her neck declaring that she belongs to him… also if you relize when she agrees to stay with him she puts the ring on her finger right before she kisses the phantom but when he realizes that she does care about him but needs to be with raoul he give her the freedom that he was keeping her from. Also in the end she gives the ring back to the phantom which i believe she means by that she will always be with him or will always be with him even though she chooses raoul.
