Why does the OSC support only 4 RTI services?
The OSC actually supports 9 RTI service calls: • Both forms of registerObjectInstance [with and without a user supplied name] • Both forms of updateAttributeValues [with and without a timestamp] • Both forms of sendInteraction [with and without a timestamp] • Both forms of deleteObjectInstance [with and without a timestamp] • getObjectInstanceHandle These services represent the bulk of RTI services invoked, excluding all time management services. Additionally, the OSC will automatically publish and subscribe to all attributes of all objects classes for which an object instance was created. The same is true for interactions. Thus, the OSC actually utilizes 13 RTI services! These services account for the majority of actually utilized services. Furthermore, there is nothing that precludes the OSC from having this capability in the future.
