Why does the normal standby screen come up sometimes for a short time?

The main phone application automatically comes up after one minute idle time, regardless of any application (for example FrontView) currently in the foreground. FrontView can not prevent this behavior, but it eliminates the normal standby screen immediately after its appearance.
