Why does the moon rise at different times?
“Moonrise” happens when the moon becomes visible above the horizon. If the location of the moon relative to the terminator (the longitudinal line defining day and night) was constant, then moonrise would happen at the same time every day. However, the moon is revolving around the earth (it goes around once in its orbit every month), and so the time of moonrise changes as the location of the moon relative to the terminator changes.
