Why does the minimum height of a letter have to be 1/4″ high?

The minimum letter height is set at 1/4″ high for a couple reasons. 1- any smaller and the text starts to close up on itself 2- The embroidery machine would use the same hole to end the stitch as it uses to start the stitch and when that happens the stitch falls out or unravels.
