Why does the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) propose to use the Wanstead Flats?

0

During the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games, the Metropolitan Police will deploy more officers to ensure the safety and security to the events. A consistent daily briefing for all officers policing the Games is required, and the briefing centres will provide the necessary facilities. Three Muster Brief and Deployment Centres (MBDC) are proposed for London, covering (1) central and west London Olympics venues, (2) the area around Greenwich and (3) the area around the Olympic Park, Victoria Park and Stratford. The Wanstead Flats was chosen to cover the areas indicated in (3).
