Why does the message “no ink” appear on the screen after the installation of a new cartridge?
The cartridge may not have been installed properly in the printer. Try reloading your cartridge. If your printer is an EPSONSTYLUS COLOUR 660/850 OR EPSON STYLUS 1000, the trouble may be caused by a loose contact which can result from the aging of the flexible sheet metal in the printer head, so the printer can not receive any acknowledgement about the installation of the new cartridge. Push the sheet metal up a little to ensure that the cartridge has touched the sheet metal. If the problem still occurs, please have your printer repaired.
