Why does the measure require a 60% yes vote to allow spending increases?
When taxpayers are asked to do with less so government can have more, we believe a super majority should be required to permit this to happen. There is a very good precedent for this. School levies require a 60% yes vote for approval. In addition we believe that a super majority vote will help ensure that special interests are less likely to be able to push through a tax increase for their projects.
