Why does the League campaign on dog fighting and badger baiting when both cruel sports have already been banned?
The fact that something is already illegal does not mean that people necessarily stop doing it. The League believes that in order to achieve the objective of preventing animals suffering for sport, it is necessary to inform the public that such sports still go on illegally and to let the people involved in such sports know that they are, in fact, illegal. The League also believes that it is important to provide a structure where the police can be informed and assisted with intelligence and evidence which helps them to enforce the law.
