Batteries not only contain acid, they can explode, be eaten by birds or other animals, and are virtually non-biodegradeable. I always re-cycle my used batteries (and light bulbs, and ink cartridges from printers, and computer monitors…also anything that may contain mercury). You can call your local garbage company and find out how to recycle these objects. It’s no longer newspapers and cola cans, boys and girls.
