Why does the institution have to sign a Memorandum of Understanding?
EThOS is based on collaboration between the Central Hub and the participating HEIs. The aim of EThOS is to demonstrate the quality of primary UK research to researchers the world over, and your institution’s contribution. In order to achieve this we need to supply the researcher with the information they require as efficiently and professionally as possible. The aim of the Memorandum of Understanding is to state the roles, expectations and requirements of both parties involved in the supply of a thesis to a researcher. It is not a contract as such, but if the terms and conditions are not met, it will reflect badly on the institution and EThOS as a whole.
