Why does the Hurst Fire Department have red fire trucks?
Hurst has had yellow fire apparatus from approximately 1970 to some of our current vehicles. In 2006 the Department was given permission by the City Council to go back to red vehicles. So beginning with ambulances delivered in 2006 the new red and white design has been running calls in Hurst. In January of 2008 the first red fire apparatus was placed in service at Station 2.
