Why does the height of the drop and mass do not matter in a frictionless environment?

In a frictionless environment it doesn’t matter how certain variables interact (ones that affect a drop of an item in friction environment). So what actually affects items being dropped, its the surface area and volume, versus mass, therefore density (in friction). A rugged item with a large surface area (even if of high mass) may be affected by friction more than an aerodynamically constructed item of less mass (in friction environment). However in a true totally frictionless environment a feather of almost no mass and no aerodynamic construction can fall just as fast as a block of gold (as long as both are left to fall without any impetus applied, in a free fall constant gravity environment). However it has nothing to do with a pendulum in or out of frictionless environment. A pendulum is anchored to a pivot and is never in a freefall (dropped environment) whether or not in friction environment.
