Why does The Grey Lodge carry so few green bottled beers?

Green bottles are very bad for beer. The green bottles allow in light which mixes with the oils from the hops causing the beer to develop a skunky smell and taste. For brands which we turn over fast like Heineken and Yuengling Lager, this isn’t a problem. Since beer is sealed in bottles, it is impossible to determine it’s freshness before opening it. For beer that doesn’t tend to move as fast like St. Pauli Girl or Becks, this is a potential problem. To decrease the risk of serving you a bad beer, we limit our selection of green bottle beer. Ironicly back in dark ages of beer (the 70s and 80s), green bottled beers, usually imports, where commonly considered superior to brown bottled beers, which usually were domestics.
