Why does the full moon always rise at sunset?
Because the Moon is lit by the Sun. As it orbits Earth the portion of the Moon facing us receives different amounts of sunlight. It is only when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun that the side facing us in fully lit (full moon).
