WHY DOES THE FAN TURN ON AND BLOW COLD AIR EVERY THREE MINUTES?

When the heater is set on the auto mode and the room temperature has reached the desired temperature or the room temperature is warmer than the preset temperature the unit will stop heating (both the fan motor and the bulbs will shut down). The heater is designed with a feature that will detect the room temperature every three minutes. This feature works by having the fan run for around 20 seconds every three minutes, the purpose is to draw the air from the room into the sensor to get a more accurate reading of the room temperature so that the heater is not relying on temperature right around the unit which typically remains warmer due to the heater still inside the unit. The purpose of this feature to give the heater better control to maintain the temperature in the room more evenly.
