Why does the digital video sprite in my Director movie always play poorly; why are there so many dropped frames?
Optimize the digital video file for use in Director. Director has more processing overhead than a single-purpose application like MediaPlayer or MoviePlayer, so the data rate of the digital video may need to be lower for use in Director. Or: Confirm whether or not the system configuration is the culprit. For example, on Windows, the SVGA driver may be incompatible with Director, or the hard disk containing the digital video may be badly fragmented, etc. Testing on more than one machine may help narrow down the search for the source of the problem.
