This is because we use Matrox’s own hardware compression when you are using a Matrox card. This means that the data is already compressed when it is captured. If you have this option selected, you should also make sure that you have the capture format set to DMB1 which is the compressed format. If you would like to use a software compression such as MPEG4, select the compressor and set the capture format to RGB24/16/8.
