Why does the Clock Display Lose or Gain Minutes, or doesn’t Update with Caller ID messages?
Cause 1: “User has manually set the date and time in the Telephone Options” When a user manually sets the date or time in the telephone options, the telephone stops automatically synchronizing it’s clock with every phone company Caller ID message. It now relies upon the 60Hz power line frequency to keep the clock accurate. When that frequency drifts, so does the telephone’s clock. Solution: Return the phone to automatic clock synchronization. Unplug the power adapter for 5 seconds to restart the telephone. Don’t use the TIME/Date Option to set the date or time manually. Cause 2: “Wrong power adapter is being used” Use of the wrong power adapter can result in erroneous clock synchronizing pulses and therefore cause the clock to drift. A DC adapter completely blocks the synchronizing pulses and should not be used at locations where incoming calls are infrequent (one every few hours).
