Why does the ClickToGo use a 9pin D type connector for the switch inputs?

The 9pin D type is a standard connection for connecting five switches. It follows the same pin-out as used by TASH Inc. and DX. This means that you can connect multiple switches such as the Wafer Switch and Light Touch Joystick directly to the ClickToGo. For connecting ordinary switches a 2-1 interface cable is supplied. This should be used when assessing different switches. When the switch is chosen it should be soldered permanently into a 9pin D connector as described in the user manual.
