Well for one he has many ideas that appeal more to teenager today then back in the 60’s. I’m sure back then there were some pretty rebellious kids that didn’t give a crap about anything, but in todays day in age, we are more open to society. Everything is more open, sex, drinking, drugs etc. and most kids are in a depressed state of mind, because they take life for granted and don’t see any beauty behind it. I love catcher in the rye because he doesn’t sugar code how much life sucks, he’s real with it, and thats what teenagers appeal too. Hope this helped.
