Why does the Army want Army married couples to attend BSRF?
Marital conflict is harmful in a number of ways. Marital conflict can lead to domestic violence, depression, difficulties raising children, or time lost from work, and interferes with a Soldier’s readiness and duty performance. The Army wants to enhance the happiness of Army marriages, and to increase military readiness. What does the Army provide to couples during BSRF? The Army provides: the training locations; trained instructors in PREP and other subjects; a working lunch on day 1; the cost of the hotel room, conference room, and most meals on days 3 & 4; and all training materials. Do I have to pay anything for BSRF? Couples are responsible for: providing their own lunch on day 2, their own dinner on day3 during the overnight hotel stay, any costs incurred for child care or incidental charges, and any extra charges or fees at the hotel (phone charges, room service, etc.) Couples may also be responsible for their own transportation (see below).
