(Answer submitted by the National Director) We in AMFA over the past 30 years have enjoyed a most trusting and successful relationship with Lee’s (Seham, Seham, Meltz & Peterson) firm. It is not any of our business to dictate how a firm should earn its living. In fact one of the things we admire about his firm is that it knows both sides of the table. This is a valuable asset for us. They have always been a plus for us whether at the bargaining table, in arbitration or representing our members before the FAA. We applaud this firms honesty and the tremendous amount of work they have accomplished to upgrade our craft. You don’t see us bad mouthing the IAM’s general counsel (Joseph Guerrieri) when they represented AirTran, or Shell Oil. Guerrieri, with the IAM’s authorization, sued an IAM member for the personal benefit of an IAM officer. We hire a law firm to do our work and only our work.
