Why does Teclon-50 work better than diesel fuel?
Teclon-50 has a boiling range from 600 to 800 degrees (F), twice that of diesel fuel. With hot mix temperatures that can exceed 300 degrees (F), evaporation is very slow with Teclon-50. Diesel fuel is volatile and evaporates quickly; it is a 100% VOC (volatile organic compound.). Teclon-50 is a non-VOC, it actually plates out and bonds to metal, therefore it works better each time you use it. Also, unlike diesel fuel, Teclon-50 is not a solvent and dos not strip asphalt.
