Why does Subaru always wear gloves?
This is pretty much explained in the character section, but if you’re still not too clear on that, I’ll answer it here. When Subaru was little, he met the Sakurazukamori assasin under a cherry tree. The assasin made a bet with him, the details of which are also revealed in the profiles. To seal his promise, the assasin placed on Subaru’s hands (not his palms) two pentagrams – the symbols of the Sakurazukamori clan. The assasin believes that having branded his innocent prey, he’ll be able to track him down whenever and wherever. When Subaru returned home that night, Lady Sumeragi saw the pentagrams and warned him that ‘it’s something bad’. To stop the Sakurazukamori assasin from chasing Subaru, Lady Sumeragi asked him to wear gloves from then on, and never show his hand to anyone, not even Hokuto.
