Why does Southampton Solent University need electronic attendance monitoring?
Electronic attendance monitoring helps us meet our commitment to providing the best possible student experience by improving our ability to communicate with students on campus, in the workplace and studying at home. AM enables better management of non-traditional cohorts. AM also enhances the University’s ability to target interventions as well as providing a positive evidence base when dealing with ‘at risk’ learners. HEFCE is increasingly using engagement monitoring, particularly attendance, as a performance measure and to assess funding levels.
