Why does SoundHound allow access to my phone state and GPS location?

0

SoundHound needs to know the state of your phone in order to release the microphone in case you receive a phone call while identifying a song. SoundHound’s song mapping feature, built in response to overwhelming demand from users, requires GPS. SoundHound aims to follow best practices in privacy, so there is a location setting in the standard place on the app’s settings page, where users may disable the feature. Please contact us if you have difficulty with this setting, and please know that SoundHound does not collect personally identifiable information through the app.

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
