Why does Somerset I.S.D. need a police department?
As San Antonio grows into the 7th largest city in the United States and expands its influence to the surrounding communities it casts a looming shadow on the community of Somerset. The school district is experiencing a growing student population and with the growing number of students the calls for service increases proportionally. The City of Somerset Police Department has traditionally responded to the call for service in the past. The City Police Department has found that the volume of calls to service the district and the city would necessitate the hiring of additional officers.
