Why does some documentation refer to an “HSC” instead of HMC?

Just prior to announcement of the pSeries LPAR servers, a decision was made to officially name the new console the “IBM Hardware Management Console for pSeries”, although it had been previously referred to as the Hardware System Console. You might see some references in older material where the term “HSC” is still used. It means the same thing as HMC, and refers to exactly the same console package.
