Why does SMS ask for DOB and gender?
• The Information Security Office is reviewing new federal and state regulations instructing NYS agencies to tighten-up their requirements for users viewing and entering protected health information. The Security Office has determined that date of birth and gender are necessary to help identify persons using OMH applications.
