There is a known bug in the PICVideo MJPEG codec which causes it to hang occasionally playing back Matrox hardware encoded DMB1 files. Try using another MJPEG Codec for playback or if your machine is fast enough use the PICVideo codec to encode instead of the Matrox hardware.
