Why does QuickMail open up when I try to send an e-mail using Netscape?

If QuickMail is still on your machine, it occasionally wants to send all e-mail. Logon to APS_XFD, open the Netscape folder, and drag the NetScape Set Mailto application to your Desktop. Open that application and click on Unregister. Ideally, get what you need from QuickMail and throw away the QuickMail application.
