Why does QuickieQ not work with Firefox on my classroom Macs?

0

There is a known issue with Firefox and the use of Parental Controls for OSX 10.5 that affects more than just QuickieQ. Parental controls causes Firefox to block all secure sites and interferes it with POST methods (submitting forms). The easiest solution is to use a different browser, such as Safari. Another solution, albeit not a good one, is to turn off Parental Controls. A third solution is found on the Apple Discussion Boards (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6776937) that involves the following command being issued to all machines: sudo chmod a-x /usr/sbin/httpd. You are strongly encouraged to read the discussion board and consult with your site technician before proceeding with any command line work.
