Why does protective eyewear need to be worn while tanning indoors?
1. California law requires that everyone wear eye protection while tanning indoors. 2. Even short periods of eye exposure to ultraviolet light can lead to both temporary and long term damage. Some examples are eye burns, cataracts, loss of night vision, and difficulty distinguishing colors. 3. The eyelids are too thin to provide protection and towels only block a small percentage of UV rays.
