Why does PostLab ask me to write my report starting with Methods?
PostLab uses the “inside-out approach” to writing your lab report. This means that you start with the middle of the report, that is, your Methods and Results, and work your way outward to the other sections. The reason you write your Methods and Results first is that these are the parts you should be most familiar with, since you just did a lab and collected results. If you can make sense of what you did in lab and what the results mean, then you are ready to write your Results. From there, you can move on to the Introduction and the remaining sections. Keep in mind that, since you will write the report out of the usual order in which is presented, you will have to reorder the parts before you turn in your lab report. If you are using the Tutor or Brief Tutor (see below), this is done for you automatically.
