Why does Pobal na h-ireann support the restoration of the Tridentine Mass?
Pobal na h-ireann is an Irish Catholic movement whose allegiance and loyalty is to the Irish nation, which embraces the cause of Irish freedom. It is our wish that the Irish nation be free, strong and protected from foreign interference in Irish internal affairs. We believe that the Irish nation cannot be strong, in the true meaning of the word, unless the Catholic Church is strong. Many young Catholics wonder why some of their elders prefer the Tridentine Mass and make so much fuss about it. This is not surprising as it is hard for any individual to feel real concern for a cause of which he has had no direct experience. Young Catholics have been deprived of their birthright for a mess of ecumenical pottage. The Catholic tradition has been to hold fast to what has been handed down and look upon any novelty with the utmost suspicion.
