Why does Outlook Express Block Some Email Attachments from Downloading?
The Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail check box is selected, this option manages your e-mail by: • Helping you avoid viewing potentially offensive material. • Allowing you to choose which images to download if you are using a dial-up internet connection. • Reducing the number of junk e-mail messages that you receive. Images in emails often include information that notify the sender that you have read the message. This validates your email address and often causes you to receive more junk email. In Service Pack 2, these images are replaced by a red X. You can click the InfoBar to the content if you wish. • If you want to stop Outlook Express from performing this function, you can: 1. Click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Security tab. 2. Click to clear the Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail check box.
