Why does one CORI request form have a signature line and the other request form doesn ’t?
The new law addressing CORI checks of taxicab employees providing transportation of children does not require that a signature be obtained prior to obtaining CORI checks. However, you may advise the individual that a CORI check will be conducted. A second section of the new law addressing CORI checks for employees, volunteers, laborers, and subcontractors, requires that a signature be obtained prior to requesting a CORI check. As such, the school must obtain the consent of the individual prior to conducting the CORI check.
