Why does Odysseus remain with Circe for a year?
Because Circe tells Odysseus that she will only return his men to normal if he takes her to bed, so he does, actually remaining with her for what seems to be a few days. However, time passes differently in Circe’s castle and, while Odysseus thinks that he has only been with Circe a few days, a whole year goes by in the outside world.
