Why does Number Lock turn on automatically every time I restart the Toughbook?
Windows XP sometimes defaults to automatically turning on Number Lock whenever you log into Windows. You will need to edit the registry to fix this. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. • Click on Start, then Run. • Type ‘regedit’ and click OK. • On the left side of the screen: • Click to expand the Registry Key’HKEY_USERS.’ • Click to expand the Registry Key ‘Default.’ • Click to expand the Registry Key ‘ControlPanel.’ • Click on the Registry Key ‘Keyboard.’ • On the right side of the screen: • Double-click the Value Name ‘Initial Keyboard Indicators.’ • If the Value Data is set to anything otherthan 0 (zero), change it to 0 (zero). • Click OK. • Close the Registry Editor and reboot the computer.
