Why does NoteBurner convert one audiobook into several files?
The standard Blank Disc or CD-R can hold up to 74 or 80 minutes of audio burned in .CDA format. Only CD’s burned in .CDA format are playable in the standard CD Players found in cars and homes today. Audible titles and other programs that are longer than 74 minutes will require multiple CDs to burn the entire length of the title. Even though the downloaded file sizes vary depending on the format they were downloaded in, the number of CDs required will depend only on the length of the book, not the file size. For instance, if you are burning a title that is about 10 hours long, it will require between 10 and 11 CDs. Since NoteBurner utilizes virtual CD-R burning mechanism to convert audio files between different format, it will convert longer audiobooks into several discs, that means one hours long audiobook will be converted into several separated files.
