Why does nightfall make artistic events more emotional?

As the light fails, the world is ‘shut out’ and you cannot see the bad in the world. The spotlight only lights up the beautiful. The dark enables you to concentrate on only one thing – without being distracted by things around you. As the sun sets, the different colours in the sky are incredible. They make you think (whether you are religious or not!) that there must be some form of ‘greater being’ to have been able to design something so beautiful. Of course, at night, people cannot see you cry when things are too beautiful! Oh, and the setting sun is so much more flattering to us ‘oldies’ than the glare of the mid-day sun!
