Why does my ultrasound show that my baby is only 6 1/2 weeks instead of 7, and is that a big deal?
Don’t worry, that’s completely normal. At my first ultrasound, they changed my due date from October 27th to October 31st, but the last two times I have went to the doctor they have told me I am measuring big and the baby will probably be here earlier. They asked if I wanted a new due date and I told them not to bother. I don’t see the point in changing it when it only changes a few days each time. The baby will be here +/- 2 weeks from the due date generally. No need to stress! And 120 beats per minute is just fine. My doctor said they don’t really start monitoring how many beats per minute until the third trimester, and up until then, they’re just looking for a healthy heart beat. Congratulations!
Ultrasounds go by the current measurements of the baby. This is not a big deal. My due date has changed a couple times since I’ve been pregnant. At the beginning my doctor told me I am due 9/24, then they changed it to 9/25 after the 1st ultrasound. The other day I had another ultrasound at 34 weeks and they said I am due now on 9/21. Besides due dates are an approximate. You could have the baby 2 weeks earlier then that or 2 weeks later.
Nope! The same exact thing happened to me! its no big deal. I went at exactly 7 weeks to have an ultrasound and they said I was measuring 4 days behind…so that would make me 6 weeks 3 days or so. They said since it was so early and 4 days isnt THAT much that they wouldnt be changing my due date or anything. I will find out on Wednesday if I am still measuring behind.
All babies develop different. If the doctor didn’t mention anything than it’s fine. Some take just alittle longer. I had the same situation. I was measuring 3 days behind and still am, but they say things look fine. 120 beats is good for only 6 weeks. Some people don’t even heart or see the heart beat til alittle after that. At 8 weeks 3 days my babys heartbeat was 173. When they do another ultrasound you’ll see the heartbeat will go up and later may go down. Depends on the babys activity at the time. Also the baby may catch up and be measuring on time.
