Why does my printer hang when I try to print from the pulldown menu?
This appears to be a problem with the LaserJet IV driver initialization. One way we have found to work around the problem is to print a blank Figure window before printing anything else to the LaserJet. This will print a blank piece of paper, and also has the side effect of properly initializing the driver. After this, you should be able to print without any problems. Note that this blank Figure window only needs to be printed once per Windows session. If you quit and restart Windows for some reason, though, you will need to reprint the blank figure. This has been fixed in 4.2.
