Why does my player suddenly shut down/run out of power when plugged to the computer and transfering files?
While transfering files, the HDD consumes more current than USB can support, hence, power is drawn from the battery to supplement this. As the battery is drained completely, the player shuts down. As a result, it is recommended that you do not tranfer large amount of files while battery is almost flat. Note that when plugged to the computer and running in USB mode, the HDD is constantly running; it continues to charge the battery if power consumed by the HDD is less than what is supplied by the USB port i.e. 500mA.
