Why does my nissan car keep stalling?

If the fuel filter has not been changed, that is a good place to start. I assume it is carbureted, and although I have never had trouble with a fuel filter in a fuel injected car I have had few carbureted cars that have not had fuel filter trouble. You don’t mention it misbehaving while driving, just at idle, so that makes the filter less of a suspect. Same with the fuel pump, for the same reasons. But the idle passage of the carburetor could have a speck of debris in it. If the idle mixture screw is not sealed, count the number of turns it is open by counting as you gently screw it in until it stops, then remove the screw and shoot a blast of carburetor cleaner in the opening and another on the tip of the screw. Reassemble, putting the screw back just as it was. Good luck!

I guess you can see first hand that a problem like this is hard to figure out because it could be several things, but what I would look at first (I don’t know what year the car is) is the distributor cap – it may have a crack that you can not see and when the engine reaches a certain temp it could open enough to cause a problem. The next thing I would try is the plug wires – similar issue with heat. These problems may only show themselves when the outdoor temp is above a certain point. It could also be the plugs, but I would first replace the distributor cap, then the plugs wires and see if this solves the problem. Most likely is will.
