Why does my Kidde smoke alarm keep beeping?
smoke detectors let out a beep when the batteries are going low and need to be replaced… you should change the batteries every six months to be sure they are fully charged incase there happens to be a need for them to function in an emergency… ones that are wired direct tend to collect dust and such and sometimes will go off without cause… in this case you should take the cover off and thoroughly clean it out….
Modern household smoke alarms receive primary power from house AC power AND include a secondary standby battery. It’s also possible that the smoke detecting element is out of calibration. Check the owners’ manual. If you don’t have it you can sometimes download the owners manual from the manufacturer’s web site. If replacing the battery doesn’t silence the trouble beep, replace the offending unit with a new one.
