Why does my husband prefer to play computer games over family, his home responsibilities, etc?
Guys are in tune with video games. Guys are very visual and crave instant gratification. Video games provide this in abundance. Guys feel like they can conquer anything the game has to offer and it will only take a little more time. If you are hassling him belittling him, he will find an escape in the game and will tune out everything. Family, friends even hist trusted best friend. If you force him away from it, he will just resent you and that changes the problem. You are better off supporting his game playing by learning about and learning why it is important to him. Act interested and slowly get him to plan his game playing time. Work at setting aside some part of the evening or a few days a week when he is free to play. One thing guys love to do is show how much they know or how good they are.
